Information and true facts about Maine Indians of early America are limited. Authenticity of many retold tales are spotty and highly questionable. Historians despair and find it frustrating that so little information was recorded, back in the years when it was available. Each year dims true facts until finally, it is hard to tell rumor from truth, fact from fancy.
