Charles Glossian
7th Maine Infantry - Company G &
1st Maine Veterans

Created Nov-2009

Charles Glossian was born about 1845 and enlisted from Bangor in December of 1863.

He probably fought in the Battles of Wilderness, Spotsylvania Court House, Cold Harbor, Petersburg, and Ft. Sevens among other engagements in 1864.

He was with the 7th Maine when they were transferred to the 1st Maine Veterans Infantry Regiment. Charles is listed as deserted between 19-Sep-1864 and 15-Feb-1865. His records suggest he deserted twice, but returned or was captured both times. He faced a general court martial and was fined for his behavior. He mustered out with his regiment.

Charles is not found in public Penobscot records but he gives his place of birth as Old Town.
