Sabatis Mohawk
7th Maine Infantry - Company G

Sabatis Mohawk was born about 1836 on the island of Greenbush in the Penobscot River. He was a 27 year old lumberman living at Old Town at the time of his enlistment in June 1863.

He was on special detail stationed at Fort Knox in Maine for a while. Sabatis was wounded on 6-May-1864 at Wilderness. His wound consisted of a bayonet in the left breast for which he was treated than discharged from service. He was a corporal at the time of his discharge.
