- Other Notes: Michel and Joseph Azur where members of the Canadian Company from Sorel during the French & Indian War (abt 1755). This is very likely Azô, but further research is needed. [NL 97]
In 1765 Jean-Baptiste Jeanssis (little Jean, son of Jean, or Jean Jr.) signed the Robertson lease of Missisquoi land and may be a member of this family. Michel Pierre Agent & Robert Pierre Jean where granted land at Durham in 1805. Michel Agent appears on the Odanak roster of 1812 veterans with heirs in 1844.
We currently believe that Robert Pierre Jean has a relationship with thePinawans/Capinofamily. Three children that appear to fit this family use the Pinawans name in later records. [NL 98]
