- Other Notes: Jean 'Agent' Taksus (1763-1813) m. Marguerite Annance (1768-1812). There are probably 5 daughters for this couple; Suzanne, Francoise, Marie, Cecile, and Marie Anne. He was a vetern of the War of 1812.
Basile Taksus (1770-1802). There are probably 2 sons; Joachim Basile Taksus and very likely Francois Basile of the Durham Land Grant.
Joseph Taksus m. Marie Elizabeth Vincent and had the following children; Marie Marguerite, Marie Josephte, Pierre Nicolas, and Joseph Thomas. This family may have also used the surname Thomas. He was a vetern of the War of 1812.

A son of Pierre & Marguerite, Louis Francois Takseus, was bapt. 11-Jun-1797 age 10 days at Neguas NB. Pierre Thomas Tax (possibly another son) d. 11-Jan-1824, age 36 at Neguac NB.
Parents of Etienne Claude (b.1799) & Francois Claude (m.1819), MicMac of Neguac NB, are Francois Claude & Marie Tax/Tasque.

Vassal

- Other Notes: Captain Francois Vassal de Monviel (a French man) was stationed at Odanak during the Revolution. He had a least one child by Marguerite Annance, but did not marry her in the Catholic Church.
Catherine Vassal b.abt.1782 is a child of Marguerite by Francois according to family testimony in 1869. Stanilas b. bet. 1781 and 1785 is most likely Catherine's full brother. Francois Vassalle, an adult at Three Rivers in 1841 may also be a full brother.
Stanislas Vassal is not listed on the 1812 roster but is known to have served in that war. Stanislas joined the fur trade as a hunter on the Columbia River Expedition from 1818 to 1821. He is back in 1822 when he marries Felicite Gill.
Catherine, Stanislas, and his two sons use the surname Laudiby from 1844 to 1852 in census records. In 1841 and earlier, Stanislas uses the name Vassal and his sons use Vassal after 1852.
Francois Vassal was m. 1796 in a Catholic ceremony at Boucherville PQ to Marie Louise Parrault.
